Fabien Darrouzet of the Royal Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy sent us a link to his blog about his visit to the Princess Elisabeth base in Antarctica in early 2016.
Fabien went there to install a special antenna to help research into the plasmasphere, a plasma cloud that surrounds the Earth. In his blog, Fabien talks about the challenges of working in Antarctica from putting up the antenna to learning to drive a ski-doo (not as easy as you might think!) You’ll also find pictures of amazing Antarctic mountain landscapes, photos of travel across the ice and life at scientific bases.
