New French ice-breaker heads to Antarctica

France’s new ice-breaker, L’Astrolabe, started her first mission to Antarctica in October. She arrived in Hobart, Tasmania, on 27th October. From there she sailed to the French station Dumont d’Urville and will continue to carry out resupply missions during the southern summer.
