Volcanoes discovered under ice

Scientists recently discovered almost 100 volcanoes below Antarctica. That was totally unexpected. Volcanic eruptions could melt the ice from beneath. Scientists are actively working to check how active are these volcanoes. The alarming theory is that, when glaciers disappear because of climate change, there is a release of pressure and volcanoes become more active. This is already happening in Iceland and Alaska. And it could happen in Antarctica, with serious consequences on sea level rises https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/aug/12/scientists-discover-91-volcanos-antarctica
